Location & Introduction
Chak 138/10-R is a village in Tehsil Jahanian District Khanewal, Punjab Province Pakistan. It is located at 30.0144°N 71.729°E, at 415 feet above from sea level. Its climate is dry and hot in the daytime, a lot of dust moves around with the blowing wind, nights are usually pleasant.
History
"Gerneli Sarrak" (The Generals' Road) passes by the entrance of village in perpendicular direction and goes towards Multan-Vehari road. Muhammad Bin Qasim, the first and youngest Muslim invader of Sub-Continent, is said to have passed through this road while on his way to Multan.
Education
The village has two main institutions. Govt Higher Secondary School (for boys)(BISE Multan affiliation number: 300524) and Govt Girls High School (BISE Multan affiliation number: 101011). These two schools serve by educating the new generations not only from Chak 138/10-R but some neighboring villages (like 139/10-R, Basti Balochan, Zorkot, 142/10-R, Bhidki) as well, because these villages or towns either do not have schools or they are just up to primary level and middle level.
The village also has some private Tution academies and English-medium schools. Although none of the institutes in the village meet the requirements of a good institute of 21st Century, these institutes have laid the foundation of education of many doctors, engineers, army personnel and people of other services.Chak 138/10-R has the highest (Not 100%) literacy rate among all the villages in this region.
There are 4 Relegious Education Centres 2 for male students and two for female students. Each pair (1 for male, 1 for female) belongs to Sunni Muslims and Ahl-e-Hadith Muslims. Some students of these institutes belong to this village and some are from other areas of region. In these relegious institutes, students learn the Holy Quran by heart, learn Holy Quran with its meanings, and some subjects (Urdu, Pak Studies etc.) which are typical in Govt schools as well.
